Remington Hosts Tour to Celebrate National Manufacturing Day
October 5th is National Manufacturing Day!
To celebrate, Remington Products hosted the “Made in Medina County” tour for the Medina Economic Development Group (MCEDC), and Wadsworth Mayor Robin Laubaugh. Mayor Laubaugh, along with a group of select local officials and students interested in manufacturing, toured the Remington facilities and even got to briefly work alongside Remington’s employee owners.
Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. This day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is, and what it isn’t. Manufacturing Day is produced annually by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The NAM is the preeminent U.S. manufacturers association, as well as the nation’s largest industrial trade association, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states.
MCEDC was created to help companies find the resources they need to come to Medina County, grow, and thrive. The Made in Medina County effort is a collaborative approach to building the brand of manufacturing in Medina County. The goal is to get workers interested in manufacturing careers, educate the public on how manufacturing influences the economy, both as a nation and locally, and to support manufacturers in the work they do.
